Tip of the Mitt Communities

The Land Information Access Association, in partnership with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, is working with municipalities in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties to identify opportunities for improved coastal resilience. LIAA is currently reviewing master plans and zoning codes for seven communities, using the Community Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool. These benchmarks, along with various flood hazard analyses, will provide data that local officials and the public can use when planning for a sustainable coastline.
